As of 1 February 2024, Peter Rafn will take over as CEO of Wingmen Solutions from Kåre Christensen, who is moving from a national leadership role in Denmark to a European position. Kåre Christensen will become CEO of Springboard Network — a European network of Cisco-focused companies that Wingmen helped establish in 2021 and continues to be part of.
Wingmen Solutions is appointing a new CEO as Kåre Christensen hands over leadership to Peter Rafn on 1 February 2024. Rafn is a well-known profile in the industry and brings extensive leadership experience that will support Wingmen’s continued journey of growth and international expansion.
“Peter is an exceptionally strong leader with great personal qualities, making him the perfect match to carry forward our unique culture with a sharp focus on customers and technology. As Wingmen continues to grow, it becomes increasingly important to have the right structures, systems and processes in place. These are essential for scaling the business while maintaining our close customer relationships and deep technological expertise. We are confident that Peter is the right person to balance these needs and ensure that Wingmen retains its entrepreneurial spirit and ability to attract the best talent,” says Kåre Christensen.
For nearly 20 years, Peter Rafn has served as CEO of several IT and technology companies, including NetDesign, Caverion and Conscia. He has lived and worked in Belgium, Poland, the Czech Republic and Germany, and currently serves on the boards of Kemp & Lauritzen, Netic and Trifork Security. Most recently, Rafn was CEO of GlobalConnect’s German subsidiary, with offices in Hamburg and Berlin.
“I know Wingmen and the industry very well, and I am truly impressed by the strong results Kåre and the team have achieved. Now it is time to write the next chapter, focused on continued growth and internationalisation. With highly skilled employees and a strong network behind us, the foundation is solid. I am excited to get started and to become part of such a strong culture,” says Peter Rafn.
Peter Rafn is 55 years old and holds a Master’s degree in Economics (cand.oecon.) from Aarhus University, specialising in IT and finance. He is married to Charlotte and is the father of two daughters aged 15 and 18.
New European Leadership Role
After six years leading Wingmen, Kåre Christensen has been offered the opportunity to take on new challenges in Europe. From 1 February 2024, he will become CEO of Springboard Network — a European ecosystem of Cisco-focused companies founded by Wingmen and Dutch-based Avit Group with the support of private equity firm Quadrum Capital.
“Springboard Network has an exciting journey ahead as we expand and strengthen collaboration across Europe — building on the same entrepreneurial spirit and customer focus that have driven Wingmen’s success in Denmark. It is a fantastic opportunity that I am very much looking forward to. At the same time, I am saying goodbye to a role and colleagues that have meant a great deal to me. Fortunately, I will continue to have strong ties to both Wingmen and Denmark, and I look forward to drawing on Peter’s international experience as we further develop the Springboard Network,” concludes Kåre Christensen.
